Paul Kanitra is currently serving strongly as Mayor of Point Pleasant Beach in Ocean County. As Mayor, Paul has made fiscal responsibility, enforcement of law, support for the police, environmental stewardship, and historic preservation driven by economic development focal points of his leadership. Before his term as Mayor, Paul was a councilman for Point Beach.
Paul’s record as a hard-working leader who listens has become a model for all of New Jersey. During his time, Mayor Kanitra has:
- led historic redevelopment efforts to both enhance downtown Point Pleasant Beach, and preserve its history
- been a vocal ally for police and public decency, cracking down on pop-up parties and crime, providing a road map for others across the state and country to follow and ensuring that those who protect us are protected and that Point Pleasant Beach remains a family friendly destination
- fought tirelessly to preserve once of the most pristine rivieras on the east coast, our Jersey Shore, against a broad group of enemies - from developers with little to no care for the environment to multinational corporations like the offshore wind giant Orsted.

Historic Manasquan Inlet Coast Guard Station Saved By Mayor Paul Kanitra & Point Beach Council - NBC Story

Move Full Time to Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey - 2023 Commercial
One of the biggest challenges small beach towns face is the creep of more and more part time residences and rental investment properties. It lowers the year round population, lowers school enrollment and makes for a tougher environment for local businesses in the off season.
Over the last year and a half, we filmed at all of our great town traditions and events. The end result is a commercial focused not on run of the mill tourism, but on showing families from the tri-state area that Point Pleasant Beach is the best full time choice to live, work and play. We’re pretty proud of the end result!
