The barriers will be down in just a few hours. With a high of 72 today, it's going to be a perfect afternoon for a walk on the boardwalk! Thank you to News 12 and Jim Murdoch for letting the Garden State see how carefully we've prepared for this safe reopening.
“I can’t believe that I have to be here. I’m the mayor of a 4,500-person town, one and a half square miles, and you guys are about to spend more taxpayer money on giving an international corporation who can’t manage their own budget the ability to come in and destroy my town at the Jersey Shore and our entire tourism economy,” said Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Paul M. Kanitra.
"They just do a wonderful job of helping those who've already served and helped us and helped this country and now really need help," Kanitra said. "They're involved with the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, so they're part of a larger nationwide network and they have all of the resources that that brings to bear as well.”
